About me

We can all hit times in our lives where we feel anxious, depressed or we've lost our way and we need help to get back on track. These times may come with bereavement, change, conflict or uncertainty and if you are looking at my profile that means you have taken the first step to reach out for that help and start counselling.

Counselling can not just help with a variety of Mental Health challenges, like anxiety, depression and panic attacks. Our work can give you the tools to process past events and find coping strategies to help reduce stress, manage the challenges of daily life and find ways of moving forward.

Finding the right counsellor can be a daunting process - you might be wondering if we will connect, if I will truly understand you or if I possess the expertise to help with specific concerns. This is why I offer you a free, no obligation telephone consultation to discuss any questions you may have and for you to get a sense of how we would work together as finding the right fit can be key to the success of the process.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am an experienced counsellor and hold a diploma in Therapeutic counselling (CPCAB) and am a registered member of the BACP and I practice according to its ethical framework.

I am registered with the ICO for GDPR.

I have undergone additional training to work online alongside my face-to-face practice. I also undertake regular professional development workshops, courses and online training to ensure that my knowledge and skills are constantly updated and informed.

Alongside my private practice I work for a Local Counselling Charity providing long-term, affordable therapy to those in the area.

I am experienced in working with adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, bereavement, trauma, dissociation, PTSD, disordered eating, narcissism, OCD, ADHD and ASD.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
