About me

I am a professionally-qualified counsellor offering private therapy from my office in Basildon. I have worked in the field of mental health for over 12 years including in the NHS and the MIND organisation and I am an accredited member of the National Counselling Society, governed by its professional code of practice and ethical framework.

I see clients with a wide range of problems and I specialise in treating anxiety and anxiety-related disorders such as OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder), social anxiety, generalised anxiety disorder, health anxiety, panic attacks, phobias etc. For further details of the conditions I treat please see my website.
I see both male and female clients, couples and children. As well as seeing clients face-to-face I offer Skype, WhatsApp, FaceTime and telephone therapy sessions.

I know from my own experience that the world can be a pretty stressful place and that our daily lives can sap us emotionally and physically as we attempt to juggle our work and personal lives. It is this personal experience, combined with my specialist training, that makes me the therapist that I am: empathic, understanding, down-to-earth and solution-focused.

I am passionate about working with my clients to improve their lives and provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental therapeutic space where we work through the problems they face.

My role as an Integrative Counsellor is to enable you to explore aspects of your life and feelings by talking openly and freely. I will give you the opportunity to express difficult emotions such as anger, guilt, fear and resentment in a confidential and safe environment.

The counselling I provide is tailored to you using a variety of different approaches designed to meet your needs and concerns. The counselling process is very flexible and should you feel that something is not working for you, we can change the approach.

By offering you a different perspective, counselling can help you find solutions to your problems, which can improve your emotional and physical health.
I will listen to you objectively and without judgement, leaving you free to talk about whatever is on your mind. I will not tell you what to do and will instead encourage and help you to find your own solutions to your problems.

You might feel that counselling is a luxury you cannot afford. However, mental health is just as important as physical health (if not more so) and the two are very closely linked. Emotional problems can profoundly impact our physical health as well as our relationships at home and at work and should be treated with the seriousness they deserve.

If you are looking for support and guidance to navigate your way through a challenging or distressing situation or wish to break unwanted habits, and are ready to move in a new direction in your life then I can work with you to allow you to achieve your goals.

If you would like an informal chat about what is bothering you then give me a call or send me an email or a text and we can discuss how I can help you.
