About me

Hello, Kas here, I’m pluralistic counsellor and psychotherapist working in Haddenham, Buckinghamshire HP17.

I have experience of working one to one with adults around anxiety, depression, panic attacks, stress, trauma, post traumatic stress, low self-esteem, confusion about life purpose, imposter syndrome, bullying, abuse (physical, sexual, mental, emotional, financial), grief, phobias, hormonal changes and other challenging circumstances.

When you feel anxious and are stuck in uncomfortable patterns, rest assured there is always a way through. I have a pluralistic approach which means I use the full range of therapeutic approaches available to me. This keeps you and your knowledge of yourself at the centre of our work. In general terms, I work with psychodynamics  - the unconscious, the past, person centred - active, empathic listening and forms of CBT - working on how you move forward with thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

I work in a way that may challenge outdated beliefs, however we develop a honest and respectful working relationship between us, no topic is off the table. Working holistically is important. We can incorporate energy work such as breathwork and meditation into our sessions. Being an energy therapist, I keep a humanistic view in mind that takes the wellbeing of the mind, body and soul into account.

I'm open to working creatively, with art, music and talk, walk & wheel therapy. I'm interested in working with people who actively want to work on themselves and make changes that benefit themselves and the world around them.

It can be hard to start a new journey but it doesn't have to be. I help you to find the tools to be the best version of yourself, as you perceive it by developing inner resilience, self-awareness.

Where do you start? In the past, there has been stigma associated with asking for help. Thankfully now more people see that seeking help is a strength, so the journey begins there.

What do we work on first? Some clients are interested in self-development and want to find out more about themselves as life changes. We have that nagging feeling that something isn’t right, we can’t get our thoughts straight and everything is too ‘noisy’. It's less about what other people think you ‘should’ do and more about learning to discover what you need. Ultimately, you know yourself best, and we creatively explore and challenge any outdated beliefs that are not for your greatest benefit.

Some of us need someone to listen and really hear what we're saying. It’s incredibly powerful voicing your thoughts in a truthful considered way, you obtain so much insight from having someone reflect on things with you.

I know it’s not always simple to put yourself first. Have you felt that pressure in your body and it seems like you’re almost always on the verge of tears? You’re not alone – many, many people often feel like this. Consulting your GP is a wise option, but in addition the power of talking therapy can help you make sense of things.

Having worked in many industries over the last 30 years, I understand the pressures of different work environments from early starts to night shifts, most recently the NHS, Music and TV/Film. We underestimate the volume of messages and pressures that impact our lives and it’s important to take time for you to filter out what your own mind and body is telling you.

We can work in person in my therapy room in Haddenham, Buckinghamshire, online or with outdoor therapy - we can make the most of what nature has to offer, whether that be in a local nature reserve or sitting in a park. Often that is in the Buckinghamshire area, sometimes Wiltshire and Cornwall.

I do understand how heavy it can feel to hold onto sadness and pain for a short time, let alone years. It can be a huge and sometimes stressful process to look for a therapist, decide to commit and then share your private pain with someone that you don't know. Rest assured that the therapeutic space we create, is a safe and non-judgemental speaking platform. My aim is to guide people to be the best version of themselves, as they perceive it.

Please note if you need to talk to someone immediately, please seek out one of the Mental Health Crisis Lines such as Samaritans or an NHS emergency line as appropriate.

Feel free to get in touch. We can have a 20 minute initial exploratory chat to see how we can work together. There is no obligation on you to commit to sessions. Please email me via the link in my profile. If you book an intro call and the slot happens to be taken, I will get back to you as soon as possible to rearrange. It's always worth emailing me to check if I have cancellations.

It is easiest to contact me via email. If you do choose to call, please note I won't pick up during sessions or meetings and I won't have voicemail on. I don't always receive texts when out of signal so do please email.

I will endeavour to respond within 24 hours Monday to Friday 09:00 to 18:00 - outside of weekend and holiday times.

Please note, I will be working with in person and outdoor clients mostly in the Aylesbury Vale area only at the moment.

Separate to therapy, I run free Talk Walk and Wheel groups. The intention of these groups is for people to connect and simply, talk, walk and wheel together for free. Find out more on my website.

I look forward to speaking with you!
