About me
I am experienced and accredited psychotherapist and 'walk and talk' therapist, working in and around the Totnes area. I reach out to help you either indoors, online or outside. Please contact me for a free initial consultation.
Psychotherapy is designed to help you to be able to do, think and feel things differently.
- To help you recognise the patterns that hold you back and to create new options to change them. And once change happens in one area of life, this opens possibilities in other areas.
- To let go of preoccupations and gain clarity of vision.
- To accept where you are and to move forward to where you want to be.
- To recognise happiness as it presents itself to you.
- To gain insight into yourself, and to be curious and inspired.
- To address specific concerns including anxiety, stress, loneliness, depression, relationship issues, self-confidence or self-esteem, addiction, trauma and feelings of being lost or overwhelmed.
I am committed to helping you to gain a greater knowledge and understanding of yourself, to enable you to make the positive life changes you want and have greater skills at managing life’s challenges.
How I help you
Integrative counselling and psychotherapy weaves together approaches and tools from a range of therapeutic models, enabling therapy to be tailored to you and to the concerns you wish to explore. We can address a specific concern or engage in a personal exploration. The therapeutic process reduces distress and increases choices and insight. We will collaborate so that you can be self-empowered outside the therapy room.
Here you can feel free, to be yourself. To be just as you are. To be understood without judgement. To see things in their true light. To see another perspective and be open to possibility.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Appointments
I will be meeting with you once per week, lasting 50 minutes either on-line or in-person, or 60 minutes in a nature-based environment.
There will be an initial on-line assessment lasting around 20 minutes. This appointment gives you the opportunity to meet me, to decide if I am the right therapist for you, to ask any questions about my practice, for me to gather some information on you and for us to make an initial exploration of the concerns that you have.
If we decide to go ahead, we would arrange an initial set of appointments. We would review progress periodically.
I will ask you to agree to ‘Counselling Terms’ tailored to the type of therapy you wish to participate in. This document sets my confidentiality policy and other administrative points..
