About me
Hi, I’m Jon Rowe—an experienced psychotherapist and founder of Relational Psychotherapy. I offer a safe, confidential, and compassionate space where you can explore what’s going on for you, free from pressure or judgment.
With over a decade in the field, I’ve supported people through a wide range of challenges—from trauma and anxiety to loss, relationship difficulties, and feeling stuck or overwhelmed. My approach is relational and integrative, meaning I blend various therapeutic methods, such as EMDR, CBT, and clinical hypnotherapy, tailored to your individual needs. No two clients are the same, so I never take a one-size-fits-all approach.
The quality of the relationship between client and therapist is at the heart of meaningful change. I work gently and collaboratively at your pace, helping you explore the things that might be holding you back while supporting you to move toward greater clarity, connection, and emotional resilience.
I’ve spent 4.5 years working in a bereavement service and four years with the fire service, giving me deep insight into grief, trauma, and the psychological impact of frontline work. These experiences have helped me build a grounded, steady presence in the therapy room—someone who can sit with the hard stuff and support you through it.
I offer both short- and long-term therapy, depending on what feels right for you. Whether you’re looking for a few focused sessions or ongoing deeper work, we can create something that fits.
Starting therapy can feel like a big step. That’s why I offer a free 30-minute consultation—a chance to meet, ask questions, and get a feel for whether we’d be a good fit. Many clients say they know by the end of that session if I’m the right therapist for them. And if I’m not, I’ll do my best to help you find someone who is.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
