About me

I am an experienced BACP accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist working with clients online who may be experiencing symptoms of stress, depression or anxiety and related conditions. I offer a collaborative and client-led approach and a free first evaluation session. In our sessions, you set the agenda and I bring to bear my knowledge of integrative therapy principles, cognitive-behavioural techniques, psychodynamic theory, and evidence-based science to help you attain your goals. In your first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy and then decide the most appropriate ways to help you make progress.

I will work with you to understand where the issues come from and what we can do to overcome them. This will involve working out why this is happening, then finding ways for you to regulate your physical reactions, thoughts, behaviours and environment, creating a sense of control and an ability to cope.

Most of my clients see significant improvement within a month. As a psychotherapist, my role is to guide and support you in your journey towards emotional resilience and growth. I look forward to working with you on this rewarding and transformative path.

Training, qualifications & experience

Work Experience

I have worked for many years with the UK's National Health Service (NHS). I delivered long term psychodynamic therapy at St Pancreas Hospital and then later, in the Increasing Access to Psychological Therapies scheme delivering targeted, short-term, evidence-based therapies in South London.

I set up in private practice so that I could offer longer-term, in-depth therapies to clients which is often not allowed on the NHS. I specialise in Online work as this allows me to reach and help a wide and diverse audience, without geography being a constraint. I studied postgraduate to further specialise in Online therapies and coaching and have adapted my style to the video chat and text-based systems used online.

I have now worked with people across multiple continents, time zones, backgrounds, identities and presenting issues.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
