Only weekends at the moment and on a fortnightly bases, please contact any time, if you can not reach me please leave a message.

I have been a counsellor now for 13 years and in all that time I have been very successful.   One client, whom when we first met couldn't leave her mothers side due to fear of an abusive partner, a year later she secured a place of work where I bumped into her, she said to me 'You have changed my life'.

I will be honoured to partake in your story and walk alongside you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Aim of Counselling

The aim of counselling is to provide you, the client, with a confidential opportunity to explore personal and relational issues in safety.  As a Counsellor and Psychotherapist I offer a variety of techniques that will have positive life benefits. It will be a confidential collaborative relationship. A realistic plan will be developed to help you move forward with courage. The counselling will enable you to become more aware of self and others. This will ultimately improve self-esteem and will therefore help to make you feel better about yourself and who you are.

The Session

The session will last approximately 1hr and normally there will be six sessions by which time a discussion and decision will be made whether to continue for a further six, nothing is set in stone, you can stop sessions whenever you feel it is appropriate.  If for any reason you are not able to attend a session, 24hr notice is requested, by contacting me via my work number.

The cost for each:

Adults - 1hr session is £45

Children and Young People (up to 16) - 1hr session is £47.50

Consultation for Children and Young People - £35

The first session will consist of a contract between yourself and I, so that we are both clear what each person expects from each session.  Your details will be taken confidentially and a discussion regarding your issue(s) will follow.  The information that you provide will form the basis of all following sessions and it will also show your progression through change during the time that we work together.
