About me
Hi, I’m Jilna! If you’re here, it’s likely that you’re looking for some support with a problem you’re currently experiencing. This is a huge step as it suggests you’re ready or getting ready for some kind of change. It’s important for you to take time to find the right therapist. Below you’ll find some information which will help you get to know me a little bit. If my profile sparks any curiosity, please feel free to contact me so we can arrange a free initial consultation to help us decide if we are a good match.
About my practice:
I’m an integrative psychotherapist which means I combine different therapeutic approaches to tailor my practice to my clients’ unique needs. My core training is in person-centred therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, and attachment theory and I also draw from different schools of thoughts such as compassion focused therapy and polyvagal theory. Some of the themes I often work with include emotional distress (such as anxiety, anger and dysregulation), relational challenges, trauma, grief, identity and life transitions.
I aim to provide a safe and confidential space where you can express your feelings and experiences without judgement. Through exploration I hope we can enhance your self-awareness which will help you gain insights into your patterns and motivations. This in turn can help to facilitate change and personal growth. I hope through our sessions you feel heard, understood, and connected.
About my experience:
I’ve been in practice for 9 years and have worked in several mental health fields including private settings and higher education. As a result, I am experienced in working with young adults and adults. Alongside my private practice, I also work as a counsellor for a university. I am a registered & accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by their ethical framework.
About me personally:
I’m a plant lover and love caring for my plant babies! There’s something very fulfilling about learning about each plant and adapting my care accordingly to watch them grow and flourish in their own unique way. My plants serve as a reminder that human beings also operate in a similar fashion!
I also love being out in nature. Getting me out of the house is often not very easy but once I’m surrounded by nature and greenery, I instantly feel calmer and more grounded. Conversely, I’m also a sucker for a binge-worthy tv show which keeps me glued to my sofa for hours!

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
