About me
Hi, I'm Jess - thank you for visiting my profile today.
I'm an integrative counsellor working face-to-face in Heswall, Wirral and also remotely via online and telephone sessions. Since completing my Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling I have been working with clients via private practice, local youth projects, Age UK and Employee Assistance Programs. I also have experience working as a wellbeing coach and with the NHS in the inclusion department and as a sexual health outreach worker.
Integrative counselling means that I believe that we are all unique and therefore our counselling process will be tailored to reflect this and to fit your individual needs. This type of counselling stems from the belief that there isn't one sole therapeutic approach that can support a client in all situations. I take both you and your circumstances into account using elements of different approaches to support you in exploring both the presenting issues and coping techniques.
Many of my values align with the Person-Centred approach as I believe that our environment can determine our ability for growth. I therefore offer a safe space for you to process your feelings, thoughts, and experiences and I will be both honest and present with you.
Whilst I work with many presenting issues I have particular experience working with anger, interpersonal issues, people-pleasing, boundaries and both LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent clients.
I am committed to continuous professional development and have engaged in the following training and CPD including (but not limited to); Mental Health First Aid, Menopause training, Neurodiversity Conference, Gender and Sexuality, Understanding and Responding to Grief, Trans+ Awareness training, Dementia Friends and HIV Awareness and Stigma Reduction.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
