About me

Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I am a person-centred trained counsellor with 15+ years experience in working therapeutically with adults, young people and children. I hold an Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and a Diploma in Clinical Supervision.I have also undertaken other extensive professional development training and recently completed an 80 hour Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling.

I have worked in a variety of settings and with a diverse range of issues. These include, but are not limited to, anxiety, stress, depression, loss, attachment issues, relationship problems, low self esteem, family separation, disability, anger, identity, transitions and self harm. I offer individual counselling to adults and young people over 16 on a long or short term basis.

Understanding the person-centred approach:

"The counsellor or psychotherapist in this approach works to understand an individuals existence from their point of view. The Counsellor must positively value the client as a person in all aspects of their humanity, while aiming to be open and genuine. This is vital to helping an individual feel accepted and better understand their own feelings and sense of self worth. This re-connection with their inner resources enables them to find their own way to move forward."

I believe that my empathetic and non-judgemental approach facilitates the relationship between myself and my clients. The quality of the relationship provides a catalyst for the client's personal growth and improved emotional well being. I am here to listen and I will offer you respect, unconditional positive regard and a secure frame from which to explore your issues.

Please get in touch to arrange an initial meeting or conversation and explore how I may help you further. I aim to answer all enquiries within 24 hours. Please note, I offer counselling to young people age 16+.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
