Jessica Evans, MBACP,Adv. Dip in Therapeutic Counselling, Dip in Supervision
I am a person-centred trained counsellor with 10+ years experience in working therapeutically with children, young people and adults. I hold an Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and a Diploma in Clinical Supervision.I have also undertaken other extensive professional development training.
I have worked in a variety of settings and with a diverse range of issues. These include, but are not limited to, anxiety, stress, depression, loss, attachment issues, relationship problems, low self esteem, family separation, disability, anger, transitions and self harm. I offer individual counselling to adults and young people on a long or short term basis.
Understanding the person-centred approach:
"The counsellor or psychotherapist in this approach works to understand an individuals existence from their point of view. The Counsellor must positively value the client as a person in all aspects of their humanity, while aiming to be open and genuine. This is vital to helping an individual feel accepted and better understand their own feelings and sense of self worth. This re-connection with their inner resources enables them to find their own way to move forward."
I believe that my empathetic and non-judgemental approach facilitates the relationship between myself and my clients. The quality of the relationship provides a catalyst for the client's personal growth and improved emotional well being. Whatever your issues, I am here to listen. Whatever your age, gender, sexuality, ethnicity religious and spiritual beliefs, I will offer you respect and unconditional positive regard and a secure frame from which to explore your issues.
Please get in touch to arrange an initial meeting and explore how I may help you further. I aim to answer all enquiries within 24 hours. Please note, I offer counselling to young people age 16+.
