About me
Starting therapy can feel overwhelming- the process of acknowledging our need for healing can require a whole lot of courage by itself…
That’s said, Hello, I am Jen, whatever has drawn you to this page today, Welcome.
I see my role as a therapist as warm, compassionate sounding board, for you to create connections, explore your history, and understand your present at your pace. Alongside that, we are building a trusting therapeutic relationship where we can show up and be valued and accepted as our full, sometimes messy human self.
What we explore and work through in our sessions can have a ripple effect in your life, layering your communication and behaviours towards yourself and others with compassion and understanding.
“Working with Jen as my therapist was initially a step into the unknown, filled with apprehension. However, from our very first session, she created an environment where I felt at ease to share my thoughts. With each meeting, I've felt a growing sense of empowerment and self-awareness. Through our discussions, I've gained insights into the dynamics of my relationships, understanding their nature and depth. I've also confronted long-held feelings towards my father, emotions my sibling addressed years ago, but I'm only coming to terms with now. With Jen's guidance, I've achieved a clearer understanding of my choices in relationships and a newfound confidence in my professional environment.”
I am a registered COSCA member. I have a Professional Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling, a MSc in Physical Activity and Mental Health and years of therapeutic and community work experience.
Furthermore, I have experience working with clients from a wide range of backgrounds who have explored anxiety, depression, gender identity, sexuality, relationships, trauma, disordered eating, neurodivergence and more.
Creating accessible counselling is a significant priority for me- in all meanings of the word. We can work together to explore barriers and find a cost/place that meets your unique situation.
