About me

My career working with people spans over 40 years. During this time I have worked in a variety of environments including local authorities, the voluntary sector and training & further education. I have supported families experiencing trauma & abuse working to try to achieve change in their lives.

Studying & work demands can contribute to increased stress levels. I have experience of managing teams & supporting individuals to manage stress & anxiety, both in & outside of the workplace. Supporting people to achieve a better work life balance.

I work with people to address feelings that are often overwhelming to learn how to better manage those feelings. I support people who have experienced difficulties with personal & professional relationships, including bullyingdomestic abuse & coercive control.  Dealing with feelings of anger, low mood & anxiety can feel very isolating. Many people struggle with feelings of low self esteem, of not feeling 'good enough', feeling the need to constantly prove themselves, being on constant alert. These are all areas that talking therapy may help.

Past experiences can impact upon people’s current lives, as can ongoing life events such as divorce & separation, bereavement & loss.

Issues such as depression, anxiety, substance misuse, compulsive eating, disturbed sleep patterns, over thinking and poor motivation may be helped by talking therapy. I have experience of supporting people struggling with these issues.

I work as a Counsellor in a G.P surgery, and have experience in the voluntary sector in addition to working in private practice.

I work with young adults (18-24), adults (25-64) & older adults(65+).

Please do get in touch if would like to explore if I may be able to help you, or if you have any questions.
