About me

I can work with you to explore and understand bereavement, grief and loss. There are also many life events which are linked to loss such as divorce, separation, personal injury and chronic illness, work issues, retirement, pregnancy and fertility issues, miscarriage, children leaving home and experiencing the menopause. We can explore together the associated experiences of sadness, anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, low confidence and low mood.

I offer you a safe space for you to talk about the feelings you are experiencing. Grief and loss (of all types)  can feel like a very lonely place, and it is often difficult to talk to family and friends for fear of upsetting them, but the need to talk over and make sense of your emotions is very important in the grieving process. I can help you understand how the process of grief works and how you will be affected. I cannot solve your problems for you as you will understand, but I can offer you the time to talk about your loss and how it is affecting you and how you are coping. I will help you to understand what you are going through and to think about some strategies for coping.

I offer an initial free 30 minute, no obligation session for you to see if you think you might feel comfortable working with me, so please feel to get in touch. I offer sessions face to face, by telephone and online.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
