About me

I'm an experienced person-centred counsellor offering online and telephone sessions for adults who may be experiencing issues around depression, anxiety, stress, relationship problems, bereavement, low self esteem and menopause with additional training in person-centred experiential counselling for Depression (CFD).

I have worked with Mind, private clients and survivors at a domestic abuse charity helping people to rebuild their lives after abuse and learn how to trust again. There have been many universal themes of not being good enough, blaming themselves and feelings of shame. At the extreme, in abusive relationships, feelings of coercion and control, manipulation and fear. Putting others’ needs before their own and not fulfilling their potential. Learning how to be independent and move on, leaving negative relationships behind and healing from the past is crucial to recovery and future happiness.

You may be feeling isolated, lacking energy and motivation or feeling like a failure. Perhaps you are feeling nervous, worrying, irritable, or afraid of something awful happening. I can help you to look at what feelings you do and don’t want, help recognise underlying problems and realise strengths for a happier and more confident you and in relationships with others.

In addition to counselling, I am also a mother-daughter coach. For many the idealised view of the mother-daughter relationship can hide an uncomfortable truth. You may not get along. You want to, but do not know why you are feeling this way, or how to improve your relationship. You may be stuck in feelings of not being heard or understood, or being misunderstood which has led to frustration of not being able to express your feelings and being so tired of it all to the point of silencing yourself.

My aim is to empower you to speak what you need and live a happy fulfilled life however you choose. I offer my services across London, the UK and internationally via telephone and online. Please feel assured that these sessions are confidential, and all necessary actions have been put in place to ensure the security of your personal data.

I offer a free, no-obligation initial 20-minute consultation to all clients considering beginning therapy with me. In this session we can get to know each other and begin discussing the problems you are facing and how I can help.

If you have any questions or would like to book a session, please call me on 07493 464370 or send an email. Alternatively, you can book a convenient time for me to call you back here.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I specialise in mother-daughter relationships.

I'm a mother of five (all grown up), therefore I understand the demands of motherhood and the challenges that go with the various stages of parenthood, including post-natal depression and feelings of low confidence and the fear of getting it wrong.
