About me

I am glad you are here. I understand how daunting it can be searching for a counsellor. The idea of talking to someone you haven't met and telling them things you might not have told anyone before can be very scary. I get it, I have been there. I was lucky to find a counsellor who helped me to feel heard and not alone in what I was going through.

Through my training and experience I feel this is what I am able to offer you. A kind, empathetic, warm space for you to explore whatever is going on in your life. I aim to help you find the answers that are within you and feel empowered to take back control of your life.

I am a fully qualified humanistic gestalt counsellor and a Registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I provide a safe, non -judgemental space, where you can express your thoughts and feelings about your situation, consider its possible causes and its impact it is having on your life.

I work holistically, where I tailor my approach to your individual needs. I believe the counselling relationship to be of the upmost importance. I will support you to feel safe and comfortable.  As we work together you will develop an awareness of yourself, your situation and any unhelpful patterns that have been impacting your happiness. I will help you identify your own solutions to your situation.

I offer a range of creative techniques, mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Solution Focussed Therapy to support our work together.

I can support you with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, self-esteem, bereavement, loss, burnout and trauma.

There may be many reasons you have chosen to seek out counselling, perhaps you a finding life hard right now and need a safe space to make sense of everything you are thinking and feeling. You might not be able to feel anything at all, you might be feeling numb, lost, stuck or alone, confused about what the next step is for you. You might be feeling anxious or stressed about something and the coping strategies that used to work are no longer helping.

Counselling can support you to feel heard, find the answers that are within you and empower you to take back control of your life. Whatever you need, I will provide a kind, warm, supportive environment where we can explore these issues together.

I understand how daunting searching for a therapist can be and finding the right therapist can often be the key to how valuable your counselling experience is, therefore I offer a free 20-minute initial consultation, where you can voice any questions you have and you can see if working with me feels comfortable and right for you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
