About me

I work with adults of all ages who are struggling with anxiety, self-esteem and depression or are experiencing difficulties within their relationships.

Sometimes it can be a very specific issue that is creating emotional distress in your life. You may want to understand a troubling past experience, or change the quality of your relationships with family and friends.

You may be struggling with addiction and need help, or with past trauma that is causing you to be anxious or fearful. You have already taken the first step by looking for a counsellor.

Whether you’re feeling anxious, depressed or stuck in your life I can help. I can offer you a  place where I can help you talk honestly about yourself without shame and to freely explore your emotions.

I believe that we all have the ability to grow and experience a fulfilling life but that both the past and our present circumstances can prevent this. I can work with you at your pace to help you to face these challenges, and to heal from past difficulties while building new strategies to help you to better cope in your life.

It can be scary seeking help so If you’re interested to work with me, we can arrange a time to talk at no cost and with no pressure to commit to further sessions. This will include a brief assessment where I can find out more about why you are seeking counselling and will be an opportunity for you to ask any questions. From then on, we will meet at the same time once a week for 50 minutes.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a trained and registered Integrative therapist; trained in both person-centred and psychodynamic counselling. This means I  can use different approaches to work with you in a way that best suits you.

I am experienced at working with addiction and currently volunteer at a local bereavement service.

I have a Professional Diploma in Integrative Counselling from the Mary Ward Centre London.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
