About me

I have a warm down to earth approach and I treat my client’s confidentiality with complete discretion, providing a safe environment to talk without judgement.

I believe helpful therapy comes about through a strong and trusting relationship.  I can assist you in moving towards greater ease and wellbeing at your own pace, working with you so we can understand your challenges together.

Some of my clients come to me for support through difficult life challenges; some wish to release a burden they have been carrying; others are struggling in their key relationships. Whatever your motivation for seeking counselling, it can bring all sorts of benefits including peace, clarity, insight, acceptance, self-awareness, release, and greater personal agency.

I have experience supporting people with life challenges and mental health issues such as depression and anxiety, low self-esteem, recovery from serious mental health episodes, adjusting to sudden life change, relationship problems, emotional and psychological abuse, suicidal ideation, family rupture, family estrangement, codependence, ageing parents, dysfunctional family of origin, domestic violence, bereavement and loss, having a family member involved in crime, having a family member affected by addiction, worries about alcohol or substance use, and work-related issues.

I work on both a short and long term basis. I truly believe psychotherapy has the power to bring meaningful change to people’s lives.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified Integrative Therapist with a diploma in Therapeutic Counselling Skills, combining Person Centred and Psychodynamic techniques.

As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, (BACP) I am fully committed to working within their code of ethics. I am also committed to ongoing professional and personal development.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
