About me

Hello my name is Hannah I am a level 7 qualified counsellor and Psychotherapist with 15 years experience in the field of mental health and wellbeing. We all experience times in our lives when things feel too much for us, our emotions can be frightening and scary. We can feel so very overwhelmed, stuck or simply lost. We may have experienced a major change in our lives, such as loss which comes in so many different forms, such as relationships, work, experiencing a long term illness, the death of a loved one or even losing our sense of who we are.

How counselling can help

Counselling is a talking therapy that helps unravel and unpick those very difficult feelings we are having. It is a unique space and relationship allowing us to really be heard and really hear our own voices above all others, without judgement. It allows us an opportunity to make sense out of what we have or are experiencing and explore a new way of doing or being.

What to expect

I take a client driven approach, with us firstly having a free initial telephone consultation. This allows us to explore what has brought you to therapy; what you feel you want from our work together and also ensure that it feels a good fit for us both. You are unique, as to is your experience and needs of therapy. From here we can book our first session together.

I offer two spaces where I can see people face to face, The Nebula Centre in Carrington, which is a beautiful haven of peace and calm, and a room in Centre of Urmston which is easily accessible via public transport and allows for free parking.

What next

Sessions are 60 minutes, and the fees are £50.

Specialism in death, dying and loss

It truly is a privilege to work with people experiencing the darkest and most painful times in their lives and being able to support them in their grief and loss, and is something I am very passionate about. Through my experience as a volunteer counsellor for the Macmillan Wellbeing centre based in Trafford I have developed a specialism in supporting people experiencing loss and bereavement,  as well as those who have received a cancer diagnosis and those caring for a loved one with a cancer diagnosis or long term illness. When we lose a loved one we are affected in so many different ways and all parts of us are deeply affected, there is not one part of our lives the pain of grief does not touch. I can be with you and support you in those moments and we will work through your loss together.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
