About me

Life can be tough.  Perhaps you're experiencing anxiety, depression, stress or relationship issues. If you're finding life difficult, challenging or overwhelming I provide a safe space to think. To process and reflect and be heard.  To begin to make sense of things. To find change. It is a non-judgemental and empathic space where anything can be said.

My experience includes anxiety, depression, relationships, ASD and ADHD. I work with adults and young people 16+. I am available by phone and email to arrange an informal, no-obligation, no-cost 30 minute chat to see if I am the right counselor for you.

My approach as a counsellor reflects what helped me as a client. I offer the chance to talk, process and be heard. Together we can illuminate your challenges and problems so that you can understand them better and decide how you want to deal with them.

I work in a person-centred and psychodynamic way. My client-focused approach means that I offer sessions face-to-face, by phone and online. Whatever works best for you. For face-to-face work, I am based in Bromsgrove.

I realise that choosing a counsellor, making contact and arranging to speak may not be easy. So I'm available by phone or email to talk and answer any questions.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a member of the BACP and NCPS. I hold a CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and a Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling. Alongside working with private clients I am an unpaid volunteer for Cotswold Counselling.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

NCPS
National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS)

The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society

In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
