About me

I am a qualified integrative psychotherapist (UKCP, MBACP) and neuroscientist based in Oxford and London. Additionally, I am a visiting lecturer for the Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy (DCPsych) programme at the Metanoia Institute (Middlesex University).

I believe that anyone can experience moments of great discomfort throughout their life. I offer both long and short-term treatments to help individuals manage difficult emotions and improve their well-being and functioning.

I use an integrative model, which is informed by Gestalt, Psychodynamic and Humanistic theories. This approach enables me to support people exploring past, present and future challenges.

In my work, I tailor treatment to the individual needs of each client and their personal circumstances. In so doing, I am committed to collaborate with the client on their needs, treatment possibilities and achievable objectives.

I provide a supportive, containing, and safe environment built on empathy and mutual trust. I also consider confidentiality a basic requirement of the therapeutic treatment.

My practice is non-discriminatory and LGBT affirmative.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

If you are interested in working together, please feel free to call or email me. We will then arrange a fee-free, 10-15 minutes conversation over the phone. It will be an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have, for me to get a little information on your current difficulties, and for us to understand if I am the right person to offer that support.

There will be no obligation to continue the therapeutic journey with me after the initial call.

Should you decide that you would like to commence working with me,  I usually agree a series of meetings before we review our work together. At that point we will decide if what has been achieved is sufficient or continue with a further series of sessions.

Sessions will take place weekly at the same day and time and will last for 50 minutes.

Please note: I am currently working remotely (video, telephone) only.
