About me

Life can sometimes feel like a struggle. It can happen because of personal, relationship or work issues, be prompted by a sense of something not feeling quite right or the lack of a reflective space away from the day-to-day business of life.

Whatever your reasons may be, therapy can offer the opportunity to explore those difficulties. It can help pause, reflect, navigate the path through discomfort, experiment with new ways of thinking and being, and begin a process of change.

In my practice, I am committed to providing a confidential and supportive space where you can safely discuss the issues you may be experiencing, in which you can prioritise, unburden and restore yourself. A place where together we can look at the thoughts, feelings and behaviours you want to address, build on your existing coping resources, and spark the shifts you want in your life.

My approach is integrative, I draw insights from different modalities to best adapt to your unique needs. I value therapy as a learning and collaborative process focused on empowering you to gain a stronger connection to yourself, deeper insights into your experiences, and find your own way forward.

How we may work together depends on your needs and what you feel comfortable with. We would start by understanding what is happening for you and what you would like from therapy. Following that, we would then build a path together.

Committing to therapy and knowing where to start is not always easy, and I know finding the right therapist can often feel like an overwhelming step in itself. For this reason, I offer a free 20min discovery call where we can introduce ourselves, you can ask questions, and decide if it feels right for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified counsellor and Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am also a qualified coaching and NLP practitioner.

I have experience in working with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, stress, isolation & loneliness, low self-esteem & confidence, anger, abuse, trauma, loss & bereavement, relationship issues, work challenges, and life transitions.

My training includes:

  • Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
  • BSc in Psychology
  • MSc in Coaching Psychology
  • RQTU Certificate of Competence in Occupational Testing
  • NLP practitioner qualification

I am committed to my ongoing personal development and regularly attend a variety of CPD courses and workshops.

Alongside my private practice, I collaborate with two organisations offering counselling support to 14 to 39 years old and frontline workers.

I have a background in the private, public and third sectors, and experience in working with a rich multi-cultural number of individuals across the world.

Previously:

  • I worked as a counsellor in an NHS IAPT service for 2 years, with individuals from all walks of life and with a broad range of issues.
  • I volunteered as a mentor and a coach in youth empowerment projects for over 10 years, working with 14 to 25 years old facing a variety of difficulties, by supporting them to deal with emotional and behavioural patterns, break down long-standing barriers and discover their potential.
  • I held a senior international position in a global media company for 25 years, where I gained a deep understanding of the many stress factors a demanding and fast paced environment can create, and learned how to manage and mediate highly stressful situations.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
