About me

Hi, I'm George - Welcome to my profile!
Are you struggling with the symptoms of depression or anxiety? Is past trauma affecting your life in the present? Sometimes in life we can become stuck, go through tough times or just need somebody to talk to. By searching for a counsellor, you have taken the courageous first step towards positive change and growth. Together we can continue the journey of change, understanding and growth.

I am a qualified Gestalt Counsellor offering a safe, confidential and professional environment for us to work together in.  I also feel it is of great importance that you, the client, feel respected, accepted, and free from any judgement. You will receive my full attention and care throughout the session, helping you to feel truly listened to.

I offer face to face sessions from my office in Southampton city centre, as well as  online (zoom) and telephone sessions. I have had several years of counselling experience working with a diverse range of clients and can confidently work with a wide range of issues. I have also worked with the Olive Branch, a counselling service in Winchester since 2017.

Gestalt therapy is a humanistic approach to counselling which focuses on our individual experiences and how we relate to others and our environment. It focuses on the 'here and now' and aims to raise awareness. With a greater awareness it can become easier to recognize and understand habitual patterns and behaviours allowing for natural change and growth.

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) which means I work in accordance to their ethical framework.

I will work with a wide range of issues including but not limited to; anxiety, depression, family issues, panic attacks, self-esteem, confidence, addiction, stress, trauma, sexuality, relationships, phobias, and bereavement.

Thank you for taking the time to read my profile! To book an initial assessment, you can contact me through telephone, e-mail or directly through counselling directory.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
