About me

Feeling overwhelmed, stressed, lost or unsure how to move forward, perhaps your experiencing anxiety, depression, problems with relationships, you may have experienced trauma, bereavement or just feelings that you can’t understand?

Many people come into counselling not knowing where to begin and that's OK because that’s where I come in. I am here to offer support and help you find the answer to, or acceptance of, your individual experience.

I am a fully qualified, BACP registered, experienced counselling psychotherapist specialising in person centred therapy. This means I am receptive of the way you are as a person and respectful of your beliefs, behaviours, personal choices and past experiences.

I have experience working with clients of all ages suffering from a wide range of issues. My commitment to you is to offer a warm, safe, and confidential environment, where working at your own pace, I will challenge you appropriately, and considerately. Creating a space in which you can express, explore and reflect on the difficulties you are experiencing, with the sole aim of helping you overcome the challenges you are facing, becoming the person you want to be.

Person-centred therapy is widely used in the UK and is known to be very effective: with clients continuing to experience lasting positive change and growth long after therapy has finished.

From our first contact, I always strive to help you feel at ease, as I realise that starting counselling can often be quite daunting, and taking that first step to make contact can feel nerve wracking.

I offer a free, confidential, 20 minute telephone consultation where we can discuss things in more detail and decide if we can work together. All subsequent sessions are charged at £50 per hour.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (cert no: 208577) and abide by the BACP ethical framework for best practice.

Whatever your needs, I will be happy to hear from you. For a no-obligation chat about how therapy can help you, please ring 07809618434.

I currently work in both private practice and the health sector where I have supported clients with a range of issues such as relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety or stress but have particular experience in working with people who are going through bereavement and loss, anticipatory grief, life changing diagnosis and life limiting illness.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
