About me
How counselling can help ?
Many of us face a variety of challenges and ups and downs throughout our life. Sometimes the support of friends or families can help us to overcome these hurdles, other times we can manage by ourselves. However, sometimes additional support may be needed to effectively explore or change something in our lives which may be holding us back or stopping us from reaching our potential.
That's where I come in. As a professional counsellor with extensive training and experience, I can help you explore and address the issues that are holding you back, and help you move forward towards greater emotional well-being and fulfillment. Within a safe, warm, friendly and confidential space, I aim to create a working alliance in which we can explore your thoughts and feelings together in greater depth.
What's my approach?
Using an integrative model to counselling practice, I include a humanistic approach which aims to foster and develop a therapeutic relationship within a non-judgemental and empathic space. I specialize in supporting clients dealing with anxiety, depression, abuse, anger management, low self-esteem, family issues, low self-confidence, stress, feeling sad and many other issues.
What to expect in your first session?
I adhere to the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy’s (BACP) ethical framework, ensuring safety and confidentiality throughout my sessions. I offer a non-pressure initial consultation in which you may discuss what you would like to achieve from therapy sessions. I will explain how I work and if at the end of the session we are both happy to carry on then we will proceed. If you decide that I am not the right counsellor for you then that is also OK. You can contact me by phone call, text or email.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
