About me

I share the belief that we have the answers we seek within ourselves and that being in a safe space to navigate our thoughts and feelings will help develop our self-awareness and self-compassion, leading to better mental health and a more fulfilling life.

I can help you navigate any unconscious patterns and bring to your attention what might not be obvious to you and could be affecting your life. I will support your journey of self-understanding by offering you compassionate listening and deep respect for the uniqueness of your human experience.

My approach

As an integrative psychotherapist, I use different tools to work with you according to your needs. I will encourage you to bring your own issues to each session and the counselling will be led by you. I will help you explore your views, behaviours, feelings and beliefs.

My therapeutic approach is also underpinned by encouraging a collaborative environment ensuring the therapy is frequently reviewed and adapted to your needs.

Booking a call

Finding a therapist who you feel comfortable with can be overwhelming. For that reason, I offer a 15 minute telephone call or a video call via Zoom or Google Meet, so you can see what it's like talking to me and ask me any questions you may have.

This call is free of charge and if you decide to book a first session, I will send you an agreement which outlines some information including payment and cancellation details.

Our first session

Our first session together will be an opportunity for you to share what brings you to therapy and what you would like to focus on. We can talk about the agreement and I'll answer your questions.

We can also agree together on how you would like to work, what your goals are and how long we will be working together.

I'll be open to hearing your expectations of therapy and we will review how you feel the therapy is going after an agreed number of sessions.

Training, qualifications & experience

My qualifications include:

  • Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy
  • Graduate Certificate in Humanistic and Psychodynamic Counselling
  • Master’s Degree in Career Coaching
  • BA (Hons) in Sociology with Women’s Studies

Registered member (MBACP 393760) of BACP the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Alongside my private practice, I work as a counsellor for a rape crisis centre and until recently I worked for a charity that supports Black and Minoritised women survivors of domestic abuse.

I periodically engage in continuing professional development to ensure my skills and knowledge are up to date.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I provide a culturally sensitive and intersectional approach to counselling. I have spent most of my life in multicultural environments and I have lived experience of immigration, neurodiversity and LGBTQ+.

Due to my expertise and professional affiliations, my practice attracts people who define themselves as women, but I also have vast experience working with those who identify as non-binary or male.

Finding the right therapist is important and I offer a free 15 minute introductory call to give you an opportunity to discuss how we might work together. Please feel free to email me directly or use the 'book intro call' feature.

You can also email me to set up an initial session; you can tell me what brings you to seek counselling and what you want to get from it and I will respond to you within 48 hours.

Our first session will involve an assessment to help me understand your needs, discuss your preferences and help you decide if I am the right therapist for you.
