About me
I offer a containing, culturally sensitive, non-judgemental, and supportive space, where you can safely process difficult thoughts and feelings.
I am a specialist in trauma, anxiety, and stress. Therapy sessions with me can be used to find new insights, as well as new, more adaptive ways of coping with the impact of difficulties, such as challenging or traumatic life experiences (past and present), transitions, change, struggling with aspects of your identity, the emotional impact of racism and discrimination, feeling stuck or lost, or breakdowns in relationships (e.g. peer, family, work).
Outside of individual therapy, I provide training, consultation, and reflective practice sessions to individuals, groups, and organisations on topics such as the impact of racism on mental health, trauma, and trauma-informed approaches. Other interests include institutional racism, oppression, discrimination, stigma, intergenerational acculturative stress, intragenerational trauma, human rights, women's rights, barriers to accessing mental health services, early intervention, and strengths-focused frameworks.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsych), a Post Graduate Certificate in Evidence-Based Psychological Therapy, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology.
I have attended specialist trauma informed and trauma focussed training, as well as anti-oppression and anti-racism courses to further enhance my practice.
I have also worked clinically for over 10 years, supporting the emotional wellbeing of children, young people, adults, and older adults from different backgrounds seeking support for a wide range of difficulties.
I work integratively, which means I draw on a wide range of psychological theories and models to meet my clients’ needs and help them work towards their goals, including CBT, Compassion Focussed Therapy, Schema Therapy, EMDR, Narrative therapy, Systemic Therapy, Community Psychology and Liberation Psychology.
My style is warm, collaborative, creative, compassionate, holistic, strengths focussed and person-centered.

Black, African and Asian Therapy Network
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
