About me

Are you feeling lost, overwhelmed with life’s challenges and struggling to cope with your thoughts and feelings?  Would it help to talk to someone outside your normal circle of friends and family?

I am a qualified counsellor, working face to face, offering a warm and empathic space to come and explore your thoughts and feelings in confidence. The sessions are your space to use as you wish and together we can think about whatever you feel you want to bring to the session.  I work using an integrative approach which means that I draw on both person-centred and psychodynamic theories which can be tailored to meet an individual’s needs. This can lead us to think and reflect on current difficulties as well exploring past experiences or relationships that may have an impact on how we are today.  At times we can feel stuck with experiences and relationships in the past getting in the way of us living in the present.

Feeling heard and having the space to talk things through in a non-judgmental environment can lead to a better understanding of ourselves and our thought processes which can give clarity and the possibility to find a path forward to positive change.

I work with adults, 18 years and above, who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship and family issues, grief and loss or are just stuck and struggling to navigate their way through whatever they are experiencing.

I understand that calling a counsellor and reaching out for support can feel daunting, but it is important to find one that you feel you can connect with.  Please feel free to get in touch and we can talk about what would be most helpful for you.  If you would like to have an initial session we can arrange a mutually convenient time and day.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
