About me

Choosing to talk about what is going on in your life is a courageous step and I’d like to warmly welcome you to my profile. Perhaps you are struggling with a specific past or present challenge, decision about the future, anxious or depressed, or simply wanting to get things off your chest and understand yourself and your identity better. Whether you are at a crossroad in your life, a real low point or seeking to make changes, you are welcome to get in touch to see how counselling can be supportive.

I truly believe that as hard as it can be, talking about what you are facing can take the power out of some of the feelings and thoughts that can make you feel stuck or isolated. Sometimes it is easier to talk to someone impartial and non-judgemental outside of your family or friends for this support. I wish to encourage you to take this step and as your counsellor I will be alongside you as you do so.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have over 12 years of experience as a therapist working with people 1:1 to improve their mental and physical health, initially in physical wellbeing and as a mindfulness teacher and more recently as a counsellor.

Throughout your time in therapy, our relationship is absolutely central and the approach taken will be as unique as you are. Our sessions will often incorporate mindfulness-based, creative and cognitive tools, techniques and ideas, which will support you to arrive at solutions and conclusions that are aligned with who you are.

My experience has given me the skills to help you move forward with whatever you are facing with self-compassion. I work with client's both on a short term and long term basis, depending on what is right for you.

Whether you have been for counselling before, experienced other therapies or are considering it for the first time, your questions are entirely welcome and we will work collaboratively throughout.

As a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) I am bound by their ethical standards, including confidentiality.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
