About me

You may be living with depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, low self-esteem, relationship or family issues. I can offer a supportive space, in which we can explore whatever thoughts, feelings, behaviours or circumstances you may be facing. Together we will develop a better understanding of yourself and others. We will  explore your own solutions – whether that’s making effective changes in your life or finding ways of coping with problems that have no solution. My aim is to carefully guide you whilst giving you a sense of agency to move forward with your life.

I believe the relationship between therapist and client to be very important and whilst we unpick issues together, I will offer you a sanctuary for you to freely explore what is troubling you in a warm, non-judgemental, and confidential environment. Drawing from my own challenges and life experience has given me the warmth, connection and compassion needed to support people from all walks of life.  I understand the value of being heard, seen, and supported.  I am an empathetic listener; intuitive thinker and I will put you firmly at the centre of our work together.

Working within the NHS and private practice, I have counselled a variety of issues.  We all have our own unique problems, contexts and vulnerabilities that will respond differently and as an integrative counsellor, I will use a variety of methods and techniques to suit your individual needs.  Counselling sessions take place the same time and date weekly and last for 50 minutes. I offer both in person and online counselling.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • BACP Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling (Iron Mill, Exeter)
  • Online and Telephone Counselling Certificate (Counselling Tutor)
  • Mental Health First Aid (Torbay and South Devon Foundation Trust
  • BA First Class Hons (Sussex University)

I currently counsel within GP Surgeries, as well as my own private practice. I have also delivered HOPE courses for the NHS for those suffering with Depression and Anxiety, whilst also volunteering for Home-Start. Prior to 2019, I was living overseas helping children in schools with SEN.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
