About me

Going to therapy (sometimes known as counselling or psychotherapy) can often feel like a daunting task and finding the courage to take those initial steps can be difficult. You may already feel overwhelmed whilst searching for a therapist and have many questions, such as what do the different approaches and qualifications mean, who is experienced enough and who could help me the best?

Regardless of which approach is used, one thing we do know is that the most important factor in creating positive client outcomes is the quality of the relationship between the therapist and client.

I am a warm, friendly, down to earth professional, who loves working with clients and seeing them achieve their full potential so that they can go on to lead a fulfilling life.

Perhaps –

  • You are struggling to cope – maybe life feels like a battle, worries with work, relationship, stress, anxiety, depression or that you’ve noticed that your mental health has dipped.
  • Had a life changing event, A new job, change in career, end of relationship, divorce, new relationship, children moving out.
  • Experiencing a crisis.  Therapy could be focused on the here and now with immediate support to help stabilise and offer interventions to develop healthy coping mechanisms.
  • Specific reasons such as grief/loss or coping with chronic illness.
  • An experience that you haven’t processed or worked through.  This could be a past trauma, and end of a relationship or a possible loss not yet explored.
  • Explore patterns of behaviour and wish to gain deeper insight on the reasons why you chose them.
  • Wish to become more reflective on your own mental health and learn new tools and skills of coping, including new learning on implementing and protecting boundaries and self-care techniques.

What I offer:

I help support individuals wishing to work through their trauma, understand old narratives and patterns of behaviours that may have caused limitations in their sense of self and build a deeper relationship with themselves and others to lead a more authentic, purposeful and fulfilled life.

I tailor my approach according to my client’s needs and have been trained to work with a combination of approaches. I believe that we are all unique individuals with diverse reasons for coming to therapy and because of that I do not operate a ‘one size fits all approach’ and instead I look to relate to my clients and help them explore their experiences.  If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, or maybe feeling’s of being stuck, lonely or lost or perhaps your struggles are preventing you from leading a fulfilling life and experiencing happiness, peace, or a sense of purpose, then I can help you.  Seeking therapy and support could be the start of you beginning to make the changes towards a happier and whole version of you.

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration.
