Claire Graves MBACP Psychotherapist for Adults, Couples & Parents
I am currently offering face to face sessions, as well as online due to the Coronavirus and have a limited number of sessions available. I am a trained and registered Counsellor and Psychotherapist and offer therapy services to adults, couples, parents and groups. I have extensive experience of working with a variety of different methods and approaches, these include; Transactional Analysis, Developmental and Attachment. I believe it is important to work with you as an individual and will combine the approach to best serve you.
Clients that tend to come to see me come from the local areas of Derby, Ashbourne, Burton-on-Trent, Uttoxeter.
As well as owning a Private Practice in Foston, Derby, I have previously worked for the NHS, Manchester Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Centre as a Clinical Supervisor for CAMHS and as an Associate Trainer for a training company working with businesses. Most recently I worked for an Independent Fostering Organisation, managing a small Therapeutic Team as a Regional Therapeutic Manager. The therapeutic service I offered included; training, supervision and consultations for Foster Parents, Social Workers and Managers.
I have particular experience of working with issues such as; relationships, affairs, low self esteem, parenting, trauma, depression, fostering, anxiety, anger management, sexual abuse, grief, bereavement and the Autistic Spectrum.
It is important for you to connect with your Counsellor/Psychotherapist and I will offer you a consultation for 30 to 40 to minutes initially at a cost of £35, to help you decide if I am the therapist for you. This will allow you to discuss your issue with me, understand how I work and for us both to decide if we would like to work together.
I work from an office in my home in Foston in Derbyshire, that offers you a comfortable, peaceful and secure environment. I also have use of the garden if you prefer to have your sessions outside in nature. There is parking within my premises.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
