About me
Hello there...
You may have come across my page as you're struggling...
I firmly believe that everyone can go through periods where things seem overwhelming. It may be that life has become difficult only very recently or that you've realised you have been struggling to cope over the longer term.
I offer a warm, safe and affirming space where you can make sense of your difficulties, so as to help you get unstuck and importantly, to move forward towards positive change. Our work together is, therefore, orientated to generating a greater understanding of your difficulties and hence to increase compassion for yourself. My style is empathic yet challenging in order to support new insight.
I offer counselling and psychological therapy to adults across the lifespan from 18 years and above.
I hope you find the information on this page helpful but if you have any queries or would like to book in for a free 15 minute assessment call, please contact me.
Training, qualifications & experience
I understand that coming to therapy can seem like a daunting experience and it is understandable that you may feel anxious or unsure. My style is very much considered and empathic and I aim to make your sessions a relaxed, safe and welcoming space where you can talk about your difficulties in confidence and to move forwards, towards new and valued directions that are meaningful to you.
I have completed undergraduate and doctoral training in psychology. I hold a Chartered Membership of the British Psychological Society and within that Divisional Membership of the Counselling Psychology Section. I am an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and an HCPC Practitioner Psychologist.
Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
