About me

Choosing to start counselling for many can feel like a huge step. I would like to acknowledge your courage and warmly welcome you to my page.

I am a qualified Person-Centred Experiential Counsellor working in the Eastbourne area. I work therapeutically with adults, as well as children and young people from age 6 upwards.

Many will experience times in their lives when they may feel overwhelmed, stuck, anxious or depressed, maybe it’s difficult to identify exactly what you are feeling. Life can be a complex journey which can leave you feeling isolated and lonely as you navigate your way through. Whatever it is that is drawing you to choose counselling, I offer you a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space to explore your challenges together. I am rooted in the person-centred approach where during our sessions you will be met with compassion and value to the person you are.

I also work with children and young people from age 6 upwards. I am passionate about my work with children and young people and providing a safe space for them, where their voice will be heard without judgment and they are accepted and valued as they are. Sometimes for children and young people it can be difficult to find the words to describe feelings or experiences, life can feel overwhelming and confusing. I work in a way which suits each individual whether that be in a way which is creative, playful or simply talking through to explore ‘their world’ in a calm environment. I believe that trust and building a therapeutic relationship is paramount to our work together and I work at their pace to form this. Through our sessions together, I aim to facilitate a space where the child/young person can develop a better understanding and cope with their feelings, where resilience and self-esteem are increased and where they can go on to live a more fulfilling life.

I work in Eastbourne town centre, less than a minutes walk from the train station and bus stops.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
