About me

Welcome to my page. You may have made a start, and hopefully a new journey into self-discovery, healing and for personal growth and development. I am a person/client centred Counsellor/Psychotherapist, which means the session is all about you and your agenda, after all, you are the expert on yourself. I use a non-directional approach, which allows you to see yourself consciously and to enable you to explore your innermost thoughts, feelings and issues. This, in time, will hopefully allow you to process and work towards self-discovery and healing, enabling you to cope successfully with life's ups and downs. I have worked with many clients, listening and supporting them through difficult issues, allowing them to search deep inside to help find a solution that will lead them to a more positive way of living and coping with difficult issues. It will also help enable the client to accept that it is ok to be different, after all, we are all unique individuals.

My support will offer you a safe and confidential environment. I work with a recognised professional and ethical framework, maintaining specific boundaries which will be discussed in the initial meeting, in the form of a contract/working agreement. I will accept and support you as a unique individual despite differences we may have between us. I will approve of you as my client.

I have worked voluntarily at a counselling agency for 3 years. I have had many clients with diverse backgrounds, cultures and issues.

I have experience with pastoral work in my local community, supporting the elderly, disabled and lonely people.

I have a leadership role working with children from the ages of 3 to 17 years of age, again in the local community.

Thank you for visiting my page. For more detailed information and client testimonies, please visit my website from the link above.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
