About me

Hello and welcome.

I am a qualified and experienced counsellor working with adults who are struggling and finding it difficult to process life events such as  bereavement, relationship breakdown, job loss, being childless, menopause or retirement.  All of which can trigger feelings of grief, loss, anxiety, low self-esteem and despair.  I have a special interest in working with people who are living with being childless not by choice and those who are going through a difficult relationship breakdown.

I believe that we are all born with the ability to live a happy and fulfilling life.  Unfortunately, as we move through life, we can pick up negative messages and value statements from others that can mask our own needs and wants.  We learn to listen to, and sometimes please, the others around us rather than listening to our own core needs.  Very often it is only when we experience a challenging set of circumstances or a sudden and unexpected life change, that it triggers us to take a step back and think, “Enough is Enough”.

If you want to know more about how counselling can help please contact me for an initial chat.

How I work:

I work in a person centred way which means that you and your needs are at the heart of our therapeutic work together.

Using compassion and understanding I work with you to explore what has brought you to seek out counselling, discovering how life is for you in the here and now.  Together we can bring awareness to your current situation which can help illuminate your way forward.

If you are ready to take the first step into counselling, please contact me to schedule a free introductory call.

I offer face to face appointments in central Bognor and also online appointments using Zoom.  I offer discounted rates for those on low income, please just ask.

I am fully insured and am a registered member of the BACP and adhere to their ethical framework.

I look forward to speaking to you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
