About me

Choosing the right therapist can often feel like a daunting task, especially when you're already dealing with challenges in your life. My primary aim is to assist and support you through what might be a particularly difficult and distressing phase in your journey.

In our sessions, you can expect to find a secure, non-judgmental, professional, and confidential environment. This space is dedicated to fostering open communication and trust, allowing us to work together closely. Together, we'll delve deep into your feelings, thoughts, and experiences to gain clarity and understanding.

I bring to our sessions a solid foundation of expertise as a qualified counsellor with a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. Additionally, I am proud to be a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), adhering to their professional standards and ethical guidelines.

I believe that every individual's journey is unique, and I am committed to providing personalised support tailored to your specific needs and goals.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified counsellor, holding a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, which has equipped me with a solid foundation in the field. My training has exposed me to a diverse range of therapeutic techniques and approaches, allowing me to tailor our sessions to meet your specific needs and preferences.

Among the modalities I am trained in, I specialize in Person-Centred therapy and Transactional Analysis. Person-Centred therapy focuses on creating a supportive and non-judgmental environment where you can explore your feelings and experiences at your own pace. Transactional Analysis, on the other hand, offers insights into interpersonal dynamics and communication patterns, helping us to understand and navigate your relationships more effectively.

In addition to my formal training, I have enriched my practical experience by volunteering with Cruse Bereavement for the past three years. This has given me valuable insights into supporting individuals through the grieving process and dealing with loss.

Currently, I also serve as the Staff Counsellor at a college within Oxford University. This role allows me to work with a diverse range of individuals, addressing a variety of issues commonly faced by students and staff in an academic setting.

Together, my training, experience, and ongoing commitment to professional development enable me to offer a holistic and personalized approach to counselling, ensuring that our sessions are both effective and supportive.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

I provide flexible session options to accommodate your preferences and comfort level. You can choose to meet with me face-to-face at the Fairford Therapy Centre, where you'll find a calm and welcoming environment conducive to our work together. Alternatively, I offer online sessions via Zoom and telephone sessions, ensuring accessibility and convenience no matter where you are.

For those who enjoy the outdoors or find it more comfortable to connect in nature, I also offer Walk and Talk therapy sessions. We can meet at a mutually agreed outdoor location to engage in therapy while enjoying the therapeutic benefits of nature.

Our therapeutic journey begins with an initial 30-minute consultation. This introductory session allows us to get to know each other, discuss your goals, and determine how we can best work together. Following this consultation, our subsequent sessions will be 50 minutes long, providing ample time to delve into our discussions and explore your feelings and experiences in depth.

I strive to offer a range of options to ensure that you can find a format that suits your needs and preferences, making our therapeutic process as comfortable and effective as possible.
