About me

Hi, my name is Ben, I am an accredited counsellor, a registered member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society and I offer in-person, online and telephone counselling.

I have experience working with a wide range of issues, including:

  • Anxiety
  • Stress
  • Bereavement
  • Depression
  • Anger
  • Suicidal thoughts
  • Workplace unhappiness
  • Relationship problems and breakups

As your counsellor, you will quickly find I am a very honest and open person, who has a great passion for this work. I put a particular importance on building trust, providing an environment where even the most difficult subjects can be discussed without judgement or prejudice.

How can I help?

Counselling is a collaborative process, with the direction of travel and the number of sessions required adapting to your needs. I use a range of methods from different approaches to ensure sessions are tailored to suit you as an individual.

It is a priority for me is that you feel comfortable, as this will aid in understanding you as an individual, your thoughts, emotions and experiences and how this has moulded you into the person you are today.

My aim is not just to provide you with the space to explore your own emotions and feelings, although this is very important, but to also help you develop a better understanding of yourself.

In exploring your individuality, our focus together will be on discovering what is fulfilling and purposeful for you, whilst also finding new ways to process and address the challenges life can bring our way.

I want you to gain as much from this experience as possible, providing you with something sustainable that will aid you in moving forward.

Getting in contact

Thank you for taking the time to read my page. I can appreciate that finding a counsellor can be a daunting and laborious process, with the sheer amount of different options out there and the uncertainty around what counselling can offer. Having once been a client myself, I can certainly relate to any apprehension you might be feeling.

If you think I can be of help to you please do not hesitate to reach out. You can contact me by email on bengarner.counselling@gmail.com or via the phone on 07463 644230.
