About us

Here at Autonomy Counselling, we offer high quality counselling services to support our to overcome their problems and achieve their potential in life.

As an actor/performer for 20 years, I spent the majority of my time looking into what makes people tick. Why do we do what we do and what do we get out of it? These questions are very rarely easy to answer about ourselves and this can lead us to feel life is unfulfilling or lead to a myriad of mental health issues. I use my experience in understanding others as a way of conceptualising what you want and how you might achieve it. I will never tell you what to do, but I will absolutely stand beside you whilst you build the strength and self-belief to do what you need to for yourself.

I understand how we can sometimes feel like we don't have a choice but to do what we're doing. I can support you to find a way of doing what you want to do without sacrificing your own happiness or well being. I also offer Critical Incident Stress Management services to corporations, large and small.

Perhaps you saw yourself on this page, maybe you didn't. Regardless of what's going on for you, know that there is support out there and that you don't have to manage it all alone. It doesn't mean you're weak, it doesn't mean you're broken, it just means you want support and help. So, even if you don't contact me, please do reach out, you deserve the support

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

We have verified that at least one professional at this organisation is registered with the relevant professional body.
