About me

Hello, my name is Anna and I am a therapeutic counsellor offering support either in person or online in Central Milton Keynes for adults and young people aged 16 and above. I am CPBAB trained in the Person Centred method but I draw in elements of other modalities as well. My role is to listen and help you work out what you need to heal, change and grow.

Why therapy?

Life often presents us with challenges that can be overwhelming but sometimes we don't always know what is upsetting us as life 'should' be good. Maybe you feel that you've never quite fitted in and it is effecting your relationships. Whatever it is, sometimes confiding in family and friends may not provide the answers we are looking for. That's where I'd like to help. Therapy is an opportunity for you to bring all parts of yourself to speak openly, confidentially and without the fear of judgment in a welcoming and secure setting.

I work privately and in a local charity and have therapeutic experience which includes working with trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, low self esteem, neurodiversity and difficulties arising from domestic and sexual violence.

Am I the right person for you?

We'll work together to address the burden of those past life events which are affecting the present. I am dedicated to providing a diverse and inclusive therapeutic counselling practice that welcomes individuals from all backgrounds, cultures and identities. I believe in creating a safe and supportive space where everyone can feel heard and valued.

What's it all about?

I am trained in the Person Centred approach which, in simple terms, means that you are the expert in your own life. I don’t offer advice or tell you what to do, but instead, we will explore together whatever it is that has brought you to therapy. Trust and mutual respect are the cornerstones of our work together. You can be assured that I am here to listen, support, and guide you as you navigate the complexities of your life.

What happens in the first session?

I understand how frightening it can be to start therapy and so the first session sets out what you can expect from me as your counsellor. I will also provide you with important information regarding the contract we have working together and at this point you might like to bring any questions you have. We might talk about previous therapy experiences or you might want to tell me what's going on for you straightaway, either way I will be led by you. This is 50 minutes of the week which is just about you.

What is the next step?

Send me an email or text to book your first session or to request a call back to discuss what you are looking for.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
