About me

I work as an integrative counsellor, drawing from a variety of techniques and tools to support individuals based on their unique needs. Through exploring our thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and behaviours—both past and present—we can understand ourselves better. This heightened awareness can help us feel empowered, manage our emotions and help make choices that resonate with our true selves, guiding us toward a fulfilling future.

As a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I offer individual counselling to adults aged 18 and above. My practice encompasses face-to-face sessions, telephone consultations, as well as online counselling to ensure accessibility and flexibility for those I work with.

In my counselling practice, I focus on a range of areas that are deeply impactful on individuals' lives:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Loss of identity and self
  • Navigating life changes
  • Stress management
  • Coping with isolation and loneliness
  • Dealing with rejection
  • Overcoming feelings of aimlessness or hopelessness

Each of these areas presents unique challenges, and my approach is rooted in compassion, empathy and a commitment to supporting clients through their journey of self-discovery and healing. Whether you're grappling with the weight of anxiety or navigating a major life transition, I am here to provide a safe space for exploration, reflection and growth.

So what next?

Making the decision to seek counselling may feel daunting and a little scary. Then throw in having to navigate the process of selecting a counsellor who is right for you! Well, that may leave you feeling confused and overwhelmed. To hopefully make this a little easier I offer a telephone or teams call. This 20-minute initial call is free and gives you an opportunity to see if you feel I am someone you could talk to, for you to ask questions, for me to explain how I work and for both of us to see if what I offer is right for you. To arrange this initial call email me at anna@annadaviescounselling.co.uk or call 07876 084000.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
