About me

I want to offer you some encouragement as you scroll through this site looking for a counsellor - it is not easy to do when you're experiencing all sorts of complicated thoughts and emotions.

Acknowledging how you are feeling is a significant step, the next is talking about it. Anxiety, depression, anger, loneliness, emptiness, loss… these kinds of feelings can be hard to see a way out of. I believe that you can feel better, and I believe that you deserve to feel better.

As a qualified person-centred counsellor I offer to listen to, and support, you as you work through difficulties in your life. I am a very approachable and trustworthy person and I work to make sure that my clients feel comfortable and at ease in our sessions, as much as possible. My passion is to see people become more accepting of themselves and the way that they cope in difficulties.

I offer sessions both online, and in-person from my home in the Southside of Glasgow.

I offer a free 30-minute video call where we can talk, you can ask any questions that you have about starting counselling, or we can at least just break the ice.

There are no expectations with the counselling I offer. Just come as you are, let me see the world and your life from your perspective, and together we will work through the things that feel important to you. If you want, have a look at my website 'www.unconditionalcounselling.co.uk' to read a bit more about me and what sessions with me are like.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

You may not know exactly what or how you feel, and why. Don't worry if you can't find an item on this list that you identify with - I can work with you even if you're not sure what is going on for you. Your mental health matters regardless of whether you think your particular issues fit into a category or not.
