About me

My name is Alice and I am an Art Psychotherapist. Art psychotherapy is a form of psychotherapy that offers the creative process of art making as a way for you to express your thoughts and feelings. The combination of art making and talking provides you with a flexible and gentle approach, at a pace that suits you, which can really help when exploring more difficult emotions. You do not need any experience or skills in art making, and the main focus will be on the process of making and what this may bring up for you.

I offer a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space to be heard and seen. I believe that an authentic and trusting therapeutic relationship is fundamental and that this can support you in gaining insights into your inner self and your relationships, past and present. With a further understanding of yourself and others, you can embark on an empowering journey of self expression, embodied by your own creativity.

I have many years of experience in a range of settings working with children, adolescents, young adults and adults, and within schools, organisations, the community and the NHS, facilitating both groups and one-to-one sessions. My background includes working with neurodivergent individuals, disaster survivors, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, sexual abuse, domestic violence, panic attacks, low self-esteem, antenatal and postnatal mental health, pregnancy loss, family loss and bereavement, self-harm, inpatient mental health, displaced people, and complex trauma.

I am a fully qualified Art Psychotherapist registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT). I take an intersectional approach, and my experience is with people from socially, culturally and ethnically diverse backgrounds.

My practice takes place in my own private studio in a listed building on Hawley Square, Margate. I work with adolescents, young adults and adults.

I offer an initial consultation free of charge. For my availability please contact me here or call me on 07988622817.

I also offer online therapy via Zoom.
