About me
Hey there, I get it - looking for a therapist can feel a bit like finding a needle in a haystack, so I’ll try my best to keep this simple.
You might be here because something doesn’t feel quite right, even if you can’t fully put your finger on it. You may find yourself overthinking, second-guessing, or telling yourself that you should just get on with things. Sometimes people come to me saying, “this might sound weird,” or “I don’t even know where to start” - and that’s absolutely okay. It doesn’t have to come out neatly or make perfect sense. We can work through it together.
My approach is very down-to-earth and rooted in person-centred counselling, which means I believe you are the expert on your own life. Rather than telling you what you should do, I’ll work alongside you to help you make sense of things in a way that feels right for you. I may also bring in other ideas or approaches where it feels helpful to the work we’re doing together. I also work in a trauma-informed way, which means I’m mindful of creating a space that feels safe, supportive, and manageable for you.
For some people, having the space to talk things through is enough. Others find it helpful to look at some more practical ways of managing things like overthinking, low mood, or day-to-day stress. We can find a balance that works for you.
In terms of how it works, we keep things flexible. There’s no set number of sessions, and you’re not tied into anything long-term. Some people prefer weekly sessions, others fortnightly, and sometimes this changes over time - we can figure that out together based on what you need.
I currently offer sessions by telephone or online video, depending on what feels most comfortable for you. Many people find it easier to open up when they’re in their own space, where they can focus fully on what they’re feeling in a way that feels private and convenient.
I know reaching out can feel like a big step, especially if you’re more used to being there for other people. I offer a free 15 minute introductory call - a chance for us to have an initial chat, and to see whether it feels like the right fit for you.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
