Risha Stapleton -MBACP,Dip Counselling/Social Work,Msc Econ,
With over 20 years of complimentary therapeutic counselling experience, I have been able to provide help and support to stressed adults in the community enabling them to improve the quality of their lives, by airing issues that have arisen for them in their working and personal lives. During this time, I have also supported couples with a view to helping them to understand ways of reviewing and revitalising their relationships
I have experience of working as a qualified social worker in a variety of settings in both the public and private sector. This has consisted of supporting young people who have been fostered as a result of child protection issues
My approach is face to face client centred therapy, using a variety of therapeutic skills. My main focus of work is working with individuals and couples within a framework of Solution Focus Brief Therapy and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and where appropriate offering tuition in Relaxation and Stress Management, which I believe can be of additional benefit when offering therapy.
I provide a welcoming relaxed environment to help you feel comfortable. It is a chance to talk to someone about things in your life that don't make sense or that make you feel unhappy, sad or angry - 'talking' can help to understand things better and help you to feel more confident about your life

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
