About me

Welcome to my page, my name is Zoe, and I provide face to face sessions from my therapy room situated in the heart of the Surrey Hills and online for busy individuals who prefer to engage in sessions from the comfort of their own homes. I am passionate about people and believe that with the right support, everyone is capable of change, to live their best life.

The success of counselling relies almost entirely upon the quality of the therapeutic relationship, and with this in mind, my therapeutic approach is always aimed at facilitating a genuine, honest and real engagement with clients founded upon trust, care and openness that allows for an exploration of personal and sensitive issues within a safe and confidential therapeutic space.

Perhaps this is the first time you have considered therapy, or perhaps you have tried it before and it wasn't helpful, or maybe it, was and you are looking for something different now.  Many factors influence why we choose to to ask for help, including those arising from anxiety, stress, relationship problems, bereavement, grief and loss,  addiction, anxiety and depression, panic attacks and childhood trauma, and so much more, we all need a little help at some point in our lives.

As a Humanistic counsellor, I believe that peoples’ needs are very specific and cannot always be met by one therapeutic model, I would therefore always choose the best suited type of therapy  to maximise your benefit. I draw from Person-Centred therapy, Existential, Gestalt, CBT and DBT and have extensive experience applying these models in the community and public sector.  This approach is about self-discovery and achieving your full potential as a human being, and I welcome people of all age-groups.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
