About me

There are times in life when we can feel stuck, emotionally conflicted, or simply overwhelmed by the challenges we are facing, which may in turn begin to cause us difficulties in our daily lives. Sometimes allowing yourself time to stop and express what you are feeling in a neutral environment can help bring clarity and balance to your life.

Counselling can offer you a safe, non-judgmental, confidential space to unpick and explore some of your underlying issues, helping you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your world.

I am a qualified Counsellor with a Foundation Degree in Humanistic Counselling based on Transactional Analysis (BACP accredited). My approach is very much led by you and I use a blend of therapeutic interventions suited to your particular needs to help you work through your issues and bring some balance back to your life.

My role in the counselling process is based on respect, trust, and empathy, offering you a supportive space to safely share your thoughts and feelings, ensuring that you feel heard. We work together to explore what you are currently experiencing, with the aim of facilitating positive change and an improved sense of well-being.

My private practice is based in welcoming spaces in Winchester and Southampton where I offer face-to-face and online sessions. I also work at a large GP’s Surgery in Chandler’s Ford.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have experience in working with young people over 18 and adults of all ages presenting with a variety of issues including abuse, anxiety, stress, bereavement, cultural issues, divorce, health related issues, loss, miscarriage, PTSD, relationships, low self-esteem, and trauma.

I am a member of the British Association of Counselling Practitioners (BACP) and practice within their Ethical Framework. I am also a member of Hampshire Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (HACP).

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
