About me

Are you often misunderstood? Perhaps labelled as erratic, overly sensitive, lethargic, peculiar, perplexing, or inconsistent? Are you left feeling as if people fail to recognise your constant efforts, leaving you feeling hopeless? overwhelmed, drained or at the end of your tether?

Do you find yourself being some paradox? Bursting with inventiveness and enthusiasm in one moment, but brought down by simple tasks that others seem to manage with their eyes closed in the next?

About Me

Welcome, I am Yasmin a BACP Accredited counsellor specialising in supporting neurodivergent individuals and family members, particularly those with ADHD and AuDHD. I bring to you my lived experience as well as my professional capacity.

Counselling or Mentoring

Wherever you are in your journey - diagnosed, self-diagnosed, curious or want to understand others better, I am here to assist you in building your skills in emotional regulation and self-confidence so you are able to self-advocate your needs.

My intention is to support you to nurture and grow whilst celebrating your intricacies and achieving your true potential. I work very much connecting your mind to your nervous system - helping you link behaviours to emotions and to live in your body.

Additionally, I can guide you through the diagnosis process, help you make sense of a recent diagnosis/assessment or accompany you on your initial journey towards understanding your neurodiversity.

Neurofeedback

Neurofeedback, a science-backed brain training technology, has been proven to improve emotional regulation and can be used in conjunction with our work together.

Ultimately, the aim is to offer you an empowering experience by deepening your understanding of who you are so that you can land into life feeling content.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
