About me

Hello, I'm Yasmin, and I’m a BACP-registered counsellor who uses a range of therapeutic approaches to support the unique person that you are. I believe that every individual has the ability to thrive when provided with the right conditions.

As an integrative humanistic counsellor, I work collaboratively with you in whatever you bring. I have experience in dealing with loss, illness, bereavement, anxiety and depression, and currently also work as a counsellor at a local hospice supporting all those affected by life-limiting illness.   I can also help you work through specific problems, current struggles, burnout, overwhelm, or simply help you to know yourself better.

Life is hard at times, and being understood by another person can have incredible benefits. I will look at the world from your perspective, and support and challenge you in a gentle and respectful way.  Having previously worked in the corporate and financial sector, I have experience of dealing with stress, anxiety and burnout, as well as other modern day pressures.

I offer you a safe and confidential space and will work collaboratively with you to explore your reasons for coming to therapy and any hopes or goals you may have in mind.  Our time together may be short or long-term and I currently work online. I offer a free initial 20-minute chat over the phone before the first session. Regular sessions last 50 minutes.

Our first session will include an initial assessment in order for me to get to know you better, as well as helping to make the sessions meaningful for you. We will take time to consider your reasons for seeking therapy and any expectations you may have.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling
  • Registered member of the British Association of Psychotherapy and Counselling (BACP)

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
