About me

I am a qualified psychodynamic psychotherapist and counsellor offering a one to one counselling service in east London and Cheltenham. This can be short or long term depending on your needs and wishes. I am a fully insured and supervised member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and as such work within their Ethical Framework.

You may have something specific that brings you to counselling, or sometimes there could be a general feeling of unhappiness in your life, and it’s difficult to pinpoint what it is. You may find it a struggle to find the words to talk about issues that are concerning you. I can offer you a safe space where together, and at your pace, we can explore your thoughts and feelings to make sense of your experiences.

Counselling can be difficult, and it may mean facing challenging issues, but this is part of a process to gaining a greater awareness of who you are. This can allow you to accept and manage feelings better instead of repressing or being overwhelmed by them. I will work with you through this process in a supportive and non-judgemental way. I believe it’s important to have the opportunity to tell your story where you are acknowledged and understood; where you can be curious and learn about yourself at a much deeper level.

I am happy for you to telephone or email me, whichever is easier.

Following this, we can arrange an initial meeting to see if I can help you at this time; and for you to see if you can work with me.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified Psychodynamic Counsellor and Psychotherapist. I hold an MSc in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy from Birkbeck, University of London.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
