About me
A BIT ABOUT ME
I am an Integrative Counsellor & Talking Therapist committed to working with a diverse client base who need to be supported to; make positive changes, seek understanding, transformation and explore what and why certain thoughts and feelings lead to a type of behaviour. I have been working with private clients for over six years, mainly from local areas in Ash, Aldershot, Normandy, Farnham, Guildford and surrounding areas. I am currently working in-person and via on-line platforms, (Teams/Zoom), which provides opportunity for remote working as well as in person. I offer both day and evening appointments and offer a flexible approach to appointments. I also volunteer for the national bereavement charity, Cruse and have been a BV for the past six years with them.
Having the capability to think, feel and take action with clarity and understanding is about being human. As humans, our thoughts can become problematic and, in turn, affect our emotions and patterns of behaviour. We can feel stuck, isolated, alone, confused, depressed, anxious and just need someone to listen to our story and enable us to think about and implement change.
Quietening the mind is proven to be one health benefit that improves physical and emotional well-being. The brain, where we hold our thoughts and memories which drive our behaviours, needs it's own time to process information, memories and experiences. I set up Quietmindful Talking Therapy in order to offer a peaceful environment to enable you to explore your inner-self and take steps to invite positive change into your lives.
My approach to counselling is not only to provide you with a calm, confident and comfortable place for you to be heard but also to enable you to explore the right tools and solutions for you to apply going forward. Re-wiring our brains to accept new and improved thoughts and habits is a hugely possible task and together, we can explore what works for you and apply strategies and solutions to implement in order for you to reach your goals and ultimately quieten the mind from the negative noise that may be troubling you.
As your counsellor, I am available to hear your thoughts, to not judge your feelings, and to just be with you in your moment. After endless amounts of studies over the years, the art of talking therapies, such as counselling, is widely acknowledged to be contributory to successfully enabling people to re-wire their selves and embrace positive change.
WHAT IS AN INTEGRATIVE COUNSELLOR?
Integrative counselling/therapy is a combined approach to psychotherapy that brings together different elements of various theories and techniques to facilitate you. Also included, if desired, is a gentle guided visualisation. This can be especially useful to help quieten the mind in order to have some time to seek the clarity you need to progress.
MY APPROACH & WHAT TO EXPECT
After making your initial enquiry, I will schedule a 30 minute FREE telephone consultation with you. This provides an opportunity for both of us to ask any questions and to discuss how you would like to progress with the first taster session if desired.
A taster session is like any usual session, fees are payable and it will count as session one and will take place from my home in Ash, (GU12)* and will provide more of an opportunity for you get a feel for what to expect going forward. There is no obligation to continue after your first session if, for any reason, you think it doesn't feel right for you.
I offer a flexible approach to our working relationship in terms of dates, times and number of sessions (although it is recommended we start with 6-8 weekly meets however, this isn't mandatory). More information can be found on my website.
I work from my home in Ash, Surrey (GU12) and remotely from my home in Devon on occasions. There is parking outside of my house either directly outside or within the close.
NOT LOCAL?
I offer sessions remotely (Teams/Zoom or other platforms if desired). This is solely dependent on you having a reliable connection and also a safe and confidential place where you can talk and not feel anxious or worried about other people hearing you.
